Jerusalem and Bethlehem
We will pick you up from Ashdod port and start the day by sightseeing on our way to one of the best panoramic view of Jerusalem – the Mount of olives.
Together we will visit the Church of Gethsemane – “Luke 22: 39-53”.
We will see the garden of the ancient olive trees – the place where olives are pressed in order to make olive oil is called in Hebrew “Get Shmanim” – that is the origin of the Church’s name.
We will continue our daily tour to the old city.
Enter the old City through one of the gates and walk through the amazing historic alleys.
We’ll visit the Western Wall – “Hakotel” – which is the most sacred place for the Jews and part of the temple mountain.
We will walk along the Via Dolorosa- the Way of Grief or Way of Suffering, held to be the path that Jesus walked, carrying his cross, on the way to his crucifixion up to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher which is the traditional site of the crucifixion in the place of the skull- Calvary or Golgotha. On our way we will also enjoy the Arab colorful Bazaar.
We will continue our tour in Jerusalem and visit the site of the Last Supper (Mark 14:12-26) and Kings David tomb on Mount Zion.
We’ll walk to the Jewish quarter and visit also the Herodian Quarter. We will see and learn some regarding the fabulous excavations exposed: the remains of mansions from the luxurious Upper City of the Second Temple period.
